In my free time I often enjoy making fictional animals with believable anatomy, as an art exercise. This animal is the 4th version of a semi-realistic mammalian dragon. I referenced tigers, goats, and horses for the bone structure, muscles, and fur texture. But dragons aren't meant to be too realistic, so I added some magical elements for that fantasy flare. My favorite thing about this painting is that the eyes seem to follow you wherever you go.
